Had a spike coming across in front of me and he was staring hard at something. Turned to see what he was looking at, yote. Got my rifle up and popped the yote.
First kill since my open heart surgery, first kill with this 6.5 creedmoor I built about a year and a half ago, and also the first kill with these .264 eldx handloads. Saw another yote a little later in an opening and picked a spot in another opening and squeezed off a round as it bounced through. Thought I grazed him the way he acted, but didn't want to go looking real hard. Had 4 does and 3 little bucks around this morning, didn't want to go trapsing around laying my scent or bumping anything. No deer down, but was a good morning.
