Went with Hollar Hunter to one of his spots hoping we might double up on Saturday.
Got on some hot birds early but they skirted us real bad and wouldn't show up for a shot.
Finally they went off and we walked back to the truck to drive to another part of the property.
At the truck we saw a few hens and a strutting tom cross the logging road about 80 yards out. I still had the fresh tail fan from Friday's gobbler in my truck, so I thought what the heck, I'll grab that.
Hollar Hunter took the gun and I just took the fan and the camera. We got on the birds and they were about to get spooky and were moving off down the hill, then that tom saw the fan over my head, and changed his mind, Mark plastered his head with these unnecessary 3.5" Hevi shells, definitely did the trick!
