We hit the woods Saturday morning hoping to double up to end our week long dry run. Little did I know that not only these two birds were going to show up, but another 12 longbeards would be with them! We killed these two birds and the rest of the posse gobbled at the gun shots. I know where I will be the remaining weekends in the woods.

I look at the spur length first (these were 1.25" each), then their beard length. Most of the time I look at a 2 year old and 3 year old next to each other, and there is a big difference in the size of their heads and necks.

There were no hens with them. There was one hen and another gobbler on the other end of the field, but not actually with these birds. Insane!

You better stay on them before they split up and move on.

Do you need any backup :D ?

Yeah that what I was thinking, I figured a minimum of 3 anyways. The more backup, the more birds killed! Come on!
