I picked one of these up today at the store and it felt great! This one had a 24" barrel and a factory pistol/steady grip stock. I love the gun, but are the prices justifiable?

I've thought about selling my AR and my 260 to buy something I'll get more use out of but I'm just not sure.will they cycle light loads?

I like mine, but I had issues keeping my head down with the steady grip. Bought a fast fire and solved the problem.

How does it do with 2-3/4 shells

I've hunted with an SBE I for 10 years now and wouldn't trade it for a new truck. I duck hunt with it a lot and it's a great gun. Several of my duck hunting cohorts have SBE IIs, and they all love them too. Not much difference between them really. Few cosmetic things, an improved ejector, and inability to "float" a 4th shell - plus the comfort tech, for what that's worth. That said, for a strictly turkey gun, I'd have a hard time justifying the price. For an all purpose gun, absolutely worth it.

I got a SBE II last year for duck, Turkey and dove hunting and love it. With that being said the only draw back is that it wont shoot light loads like 7/8 oz. loads. I took it with me to trap rang with my son and it would not shoot 7/8 oz. so I tried some 1 oz. loads and it did fine. When I got home I searched the Internet and found where other people were having the same problem.

I thought seriously about getting one of these after last season. Then I waived off. I have an 870 turkey I bought 14 years ago. Never shot anything but 3.5 led shot out of it. Tru glow sights that are not adjustable and shoot low. No real to get anything better so I guess I'll hold off a few more years.

I had a SBE1 and I'll agree that it's the best all around gun out there. I've also owned a SX3 and an A400 Xtreme. I'm going all 20 gauge now but if I got another auto 12 it would be a M2 because I never shot 3.5s anyway.

My SBE1 would not float a fourth. The biggest difference between the 1 and 2 is the comfortech stock.

Benelli offers 2 different Comfortech stocks. One is longer with a medium recoil pad and the other is shorter with a long recoil pad. Both stocks have same 14-3/8" length of pull as supplied. If a Limbsaver pad is added to the shorter stock it will maintain similar length of pull, if a Limbsaver is added to the longer stock it will increase length of pull. Also, with the 3 different sized Benelli pads (short, medium, long) length of pull can be changed.

I never shot 3.5s in my Nova so I got the M2 with a 21" barrel. It is awesome-light and handy and it shoots all loads without a hitch.

It's my most used gun. I use it for everything I hunt except deer. Definitely worth the investment if you hunt a lot. In roughly 8-9 years of hard hunting I can't recall it ever jamming.

Those of you that use it for wing shootng and turkey hunting....what kind of sights are you using for turkey hunting? Do you have to switch out the sights?

Get a 26, not a 24. If you are planning on hunting in a duck blind, you buddys will be glad you did. The 26 will also have better resale, although, I wouldn't never get rid of mine. Love em. Best auto made! The SBE 1s would float a fourth shell, they changed the bolt so the SBE 2s wouldn't. The sbe2s will float a fourth shell with a slight modification, but you really don't need it. They will cycle any load. If you are serious, consider the American SBE2. Its the same exact gun, from Benilli, it comes with a camo stock, not comfort tech, and a camo forearm, with the standard black matte receiver and barrel. The price is around 1200 versus 1600 for the regular SBE2. The only difference in the guns is the American only has three choke tubes instead of five, doesn't come with a shim kit, and a plain solid stock instead of the comfort teck stock. I sold my comfort tech stock the day I bought mine, and ordered the plain stock from Benelli. Dirt and water tends to get inside the rubber inserts. You wont regret buying one, and they hold their value better than anything on the market. Man, I should work for Benilli!

Not all SBE 1'S will float the 4th there are some transition guns out there. The ones that float are always worth more if you can find one. Tick is right 26 & 28 will resale better because the majority of duck hunters want longer barrels. I wish mine had a 30. If anyone has a 1 that's just collecting dust I would be interested, my others are lonely
