I got a couple buds who got new SBE2s for Christmas and I am helping figure what chokes to try... One is gonna shoot win lb 5s, the other nag blends.. What works for yall?

Your welcome to send me a PM or give me a call. I did a TON of testing with my sbe2 last year specifically with the 2 loads your mention above. Ended up using a Rob Roberts 655 last year for both of those shells. Also liked kicks in 665 with the long beards but it didn't shoot the magblends all that well. The only one I haven't really tried but plan on this spring is the patternmaster code black which I hear is awesome in benellis. I tried most every choke out there last spring and the above was the patteren I liked the best to hunt with

I'll try and post some pics of them all if I still have them. The Indian creek was good but really messed with the POI. rhino was also good but had some holes in the pattern. Pure gold wasn't that good in mine. Sumtoy was prob #2 or 1b. Ssx I didn't like at all and messed up my POI.
The Rob Roberts ended up being like 200 in a 10" at 40yds and a very good 20" with the 3" magblends. Long beards were like 185 at 40yds as well if I remember correctly.

I got a sbe II last year and played with several choke/shell combinations, i spoke with the owner of rhino and nitro before all this to explain to them what i wanted out of my gun, i didnt want a super super tight pattern at 20yds that could result in me slightly goofing up and miss a bird. I tried a kicks GB .660, rhino .670 and an indian creek .665. I ended up sticking with a rhino .670 and nitros. This year i will be shooting mega-weights by nitro, as they were also a gift. Honestly all 3 chokes i tried with either the longbeards or nitros patterned very well in each of these chokes, a fella could be happy shooting either. They are great guns and your buddies will enjoy them.
