I'm about to throw away my WGI camera.

I have been seeing huge bucks in a been field below my house for years now. I got permission to hunt on the land neighboring it were the deer come from. I she hunted it last year and found a 9 point shed that was only half of the antler(squirrels demolished it). Saterday I put out my WGI camera right were I found the shed. The deer trails in the area would blow your mind.

To get to the point here is the picture I got
WGI_0002.jpg

As you can tell, you can't tell how big or little the deer is. Doubt it's a shooter (looks to be a buck with a good left side with a spike on the right but you can't even tell it has a head so idk) but it's the day after I put the cam out and Im 99% sure that he some how alerted deer to get out of the area. It especially didn't help that I jumped a nice buck putting the camera up.

I'm going to leave it out for one more week but no matter what I get on it Im taking it out. I really feel I have a good chance at a nice buck if I hunt the area, I just don't want to run them out lol

PS-never buy a WGI red flash camera they suck!

Some cameras produce an audible noise every time they take a picture. A filter has to move over the camera's lens and this produces a "clunk" sound that can be heard for some distance. That sound will definitely spook deer. And that's why I only use cameras that shift the filter twice per day, once at sunrise and again at sunset.

Would you happen to know if the primos truth cam 35 does it only twice a day. I bought one and put it out last weekend. I might check it tommorow to see how it did.

I also may put one of my tascos in place of the WGI. I've only had one deer run from a tasco.

The previous generation Primos Truth Cams had a lot reviews that mentioned an audible noise every time they took a photo. Primos updated the technology (well, another company updated it for them) and the new Primos Truth Cam Ultra line supposedly does not have the noise (and they are smaller). This is one reason why most stores have the older Primos Truth Cams on sale. I have some previous generation Spypoint cameras and they also make a noise every time they take a picture. My newer Spypoint cams are silent.

Thanks Vermin. I found the package from my Primos and it is one of the new ones that only adjusts twice a day.

I was worried I spent $80 for a piece of garbage.

send to me i need a other camera i just have this one and i always need a other one to scout areas with, i'll even pay for shipping and stuff LOL

I love my wgi camera. best one I have had yet. comparing it with cuddeback and moultrie. guess i got the lucky one.

?

I'm gonna check it tommorow. It's fairly close to my house so I always check it before I get my others. Ill post whatever I get on it in this thread

10 of my 20 cameras are wgi and ive never had a problem with them spooking deer. i do get blurry pics on some of the cheaper ones. But i cant complian for the price i paid.

I don't feel like uploading he pics now but I got quite a few. Mostly of a doe and a fawn(not together the fawn is by itself). A bunch of coons & squrriels but no bucks. About 5 whiteout pictures. Not really a big deal though. Just glad I didn't have any deer jumping away!

that picture does not necessarily mean anything. deer run around all the time. it would not concern me. i doubt the click of a camera would concern a deer for more than a few seconds.
