Went on a little walkabout today thinking that I might get lucky and find a few Chanterelles. I usually find them around the 4th of July but i've not had the chance to look lately.
Looks like I was a week late and a week early. Most that I found were either too far gone or too small. I did manage to find enough to make my walk worthwhile though. And a bonus Chicken of the Woods.
Also found a large cluster of Hen of the Woods but unfortunately it was a little too big and tuff.

I am just starting so I have much to learn. I found these on my property today and will go back in the morning, after some research this evening, and confirm what they are. I love mushrooms and look forward to some wild ones.

Those look like Chanterelles to me. Nice find!!

I have these on my property and can't figure out what they are for the life of me.
Hmmm, not sure about that one. Kinda looks like a puff ball [edible] on the first pic but not sure on the other pics.
I can only safely identify a few mushrooms with certainty, Chanterelles, Bearded tooth, Shelf [oyster], Chicken of the woods, Hen of the woods, and Morels. I'm sure there are a lot of edibles on my property but if i'm not sure I leave them be.
Maybe Buzzard Breath will chime in, he's pretty good at identifying the good from the bad.

Like I said, I needed to do a bunch of research to make sure. Confirmed they were chanterelles. Dry sautéed and then added a little butter. Added a little brown gravy and served over a medium rare ribeye. Baked potato and grilled asparagus.
Now I need a nap.

Look up Lions mane. Extremely easy to identify with no lookalikes. Cook them like a Morel. They taste like lobster.

I've found a few, both times in the Winter time. I call them Bearded tooth, they go by several different names. They are good!!
Kinda look like deer balls after you cut them off lol.
