Scopes for 2 guns

I am purchasing a Savage 220 slug gun. At a loss in terms of scopes. Am I correct to assume that the designated slug scopes are more of a hype pitch? Wondering what would be a good option for that gun. Recommendations?

On a side note, I have a Leupold vx2 on My Ruger m77, I have thought about using with the Savage and purchase a better scope for the rifle. Budget 600 bucks there. So what would you guys do with those particular guns?

It may have been overkill but I put a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 on my Savage 220. I carry mine during rifle season quite a bit.

That leupold would be great!!i got a Burris 2/7/32 on mine an it does great

I also have a Zeiss on mine but that VX2 would fit the bill nicely.
