Scoring a turkey

I'm pretty new to turkey hunting and hoping to get my first one this season. I've heard of people scoring them but how do they do it? What do they measure?

i score the breast out and in the pan it goes, i would love to have one mounted but i cant give up the breast

I'm not much on scoring a turkey. If he is a two year old or better he is a trophy bird that is gonna get a facefull of shot, create memories for me and my friends/family, and then go in the skillet.

I think its the following:

beard length, spur length, weight, number of beards

Yep, almost as bad as deer hunters.

I score them by measuring the spurs and beard.
Other than that I just know I scored on a bird.
