SD card reader

There is a little red card reader that you can plug into your phone, tablet etc. A friend bought one last year. His initial reports were less than favorable. I still just drag my laptop.

An immediate read may save you a lot of time in that if you wait until you are home to see what's on your camera and leave the camera set up where it's at and you discover that there's no deer movement at that site, you've just wasted all the time the camera remains there capturing no pics. On the other hand you may discover a buck you're interested in getting more pics of and move the camera before you find out viewing the card at home that he is using the site in front of where your camera was. A reader is worth it.

Good point I'd probably invest in one if my property was further away...I was concerned that checking my camera too often would spook the deer but it has no adverse effect on their movement at my location...the two dominant bucks have returned 2 hours after I checked on several different occasions...I even cut some brush plowed the ground and gave the location a complete makeover, yet they came before sunset lol...I however wouldn't advise checking too often 99% of the time I just think these particular deer are wierdos....

I have a small laptap I fit in my backpack in case I am real interested in checking in the woods. I bought it at a pawn shop a couple of years ago for around $100. But, I have at least 2 sd cards for each camera and I usually take them home and view them. You miss a lot of details in the woods trying to view them and I usually have several thousand pics to go through. I have tried some card reader devices - but the ones I have tried will take 4 -8 seconds to pull up pictures. When you are looking through several thousands pics, that really adds up. On my lap top at home, I can look at them almost at video speed.
