I have tried 2 types that plug into a I phone, neither has held up, I am looking at buying a hand held model .

any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat so curious for answers. I've had 2 Boneviews and 1 HME. None of them lasted long at all, literally have had those 3 within a year.

I always use the kind that plug into my cell phone or tablet. The best one so far is this one for my android: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CN ... UTF8&psc=1

I tried the one with the small cable but it didn't last long, but this one transports well, and works without drivers or external programs. Off season, I just use the Samsung tablet, to review and shrink the pics if I want to post one. The only downsides, is that I have to take the cover off my phone, and the little covers can get lost if you're not careful.

Get the one that's made for iPhone. They have at Best Buy and sometimes target and Walmart. They upload great on my iPhone but not my iPad. I always scroll through the pictures and I screenshot the ones I want to keep. Seems when u import them It zooms in and messed the pictures up. I only got It so I could look at them while I'm in stand. I ended up buying extra sd cards so I just swap them out and load them into cpu when I get home. Seems better that way. Just use the phone to see if big boy has came through anytime soon!

I have not had good luck with the phone ones. I went back to a card reader in my USB port.

I use a Transcend 2.0 OTG from amazon $10 and an old tablet. It works great, much better than the other 3 other types I've tried. The one for my iPad mini works ok but I don't like that I have to upload them to look at them.

I haven't found one that will allow you to view video yet. I have tried three different card readers. I think the size of a video file is too much for these little card readers to transmit fast enough. Anyone have any luck viewing video in the field?

I have a Samsung phone and tablet, and while both can view the pictures strait from the card reader, it is slow. So I use the card reader to transfer files onto the phone or tablet, then view from that location. I "move" the files, so it leaves the card blank, then I reinstall it into the camera and go to the next one.

That is similar to my system now. I just hate getting home and going through your camera footage and realizing you should have moved that camera or done something different.

I do this right there at the camera. There have been more than a few times where I had to move my camera because the wind or shadows caused the camera to trip and give me "empty" frames. If I am satisfied with the camera's location, I move to the next camera and repeat the process.

buy a old laptop with a SD card reader in it,usually $100, you get big screen to look at pics with. if your just running cameras to check pics, if viewing from stand phone works great, you get down and put card back in.... those plug ins only bout $30 and usually last the season.

I have the little moultrie one. But have been looking at the bigger wild game innovations one. You can actually delete the pics on that one I
Believe

If you have an Apple iPhone, I recommend the "Apple Lightning Stick" round 35 bucks . Its perfect in every way for downloading pics from SD card
