just curious as to what others think of the season so far based on their expectations.

in the places i hunt the season has been a BANNER year so far. Have had 3 hunts and killed 3 birds (2 by me) and had 2 others that should have been killed but the person with me was not set up quite right to take the shot. Have had ALOT of birds this year but most have been midday birds as the mornings are still hard work with hens and gobblers together.

As of now i would grade the 2010 season an A+

Season has been ok for me I guess. only hunted 2 times. Missed the first time out. Killed yesterday. I agree with you on the morning hunts. My birds are still flocked up with the hens but things are starting to change.

We went 3 for 3 opening weekend.I also missed one that I worked for over two hours because I shot a small tree down that I didn't see in the scope.

We were seeing several gobblers together at a time.Maybe they will start to break up soon.only one of the gobblers was aloneThe others we called in were 2,3 and even 6 in a group. They stopped gobbling by 8 but we got on some to gobble during midday.

I have killed one but have seen birds every trip so other than lack of gobbling cant complain to much just trying get my son a bird now.

See birds all year in the field at the Cabin, they roost every night down in a draw by the lake. Can't for the life of me pull them out. I got them to the edge of the field this year, woo hoo, getting there slow bu sure. Got an invite to hunt 300 acres by the house. Called in a trio of gobblers for my buddy who shot a 30lb, 10" biggun.

Birds are everywhere I have been. Plenty of action to be had! Kind of makes all that whinning about lack of birds a couple years back when a lot were wanting the limits cut back and all a mute point now. Mother nature takes care of things in its own way. Just enjoy the hunts!
