Watching the fire in the fireplace reflecting on deer season as it wraps up. November was great. December was slow. We had two bucks on our place we considered mature bucks that we were interested in taking. The buck pictured was #2 and #1 is still alive as of Jan 3rd. Saw this buck Nov-8 few minutes after legal shooting time..chasing does...Then on Nov-15 he showed back up at 4:05 pm in same area chasing does...130 yards, Barnes T-EZ 120gr triple 7...had multiple trail cam pics of him in velvet and hard horn...hate to see the season close but in reality it never ends... already studying on what projects are next....trimming trees, shed hunting, running cameras, etc...looking forward to next season.

Awesome buck! But sucks to be you guys! 1st rut is just starting here in south MS... And I have another 5w of deer season :) too bad the buck I'm hunting crossed the railroad tracks before I could get on him this eve.

Very nice! Congrats on a fruitful season.

Although my season went largely with unfilled tags, I did hunt a lot & learned a lot. I'm tired. This time of year is always one of my favorites because I can finally put into action all the planning & ideas I come up with while sitting on stand. Always work to be done.

Thanks... appreciate it.....and your correct...there's always work to be done... and while I truly do enjoy hunting....I've really come to enjoy land management, improving habitat, etc....it's very rewarding to see a piece of property change over time...Good luck with your projects... enjoy the process.
