Should have been TWO personal fouls, and the game would have been over as SC would have ran out the clock. I am just so glad this time it went in the Vols favor :D !

Wow, that's crazy.

I guess that happened after I went to bed.
I agree, I have seen some pretty pathetic calls / no calls this year.

To beat it all, on the TV replay, there is a ref standing not ten steps away between the where the play occurred and the sideline.

I couldn't believe a flag wasn't thrown.

Yup happens in almost every single game refs miss calls or dont call one, they cant get everything right 100'/, of the time there only humans

:D This wasn't a missed call. They saw it, but chose to keep the flag in their pocket for whatever reason.

I have noticed this season that they have have moved toward not calling the personal foul in gray areas, where they had in the past. But even the biggest Vol homer can see that isn't in the gray area :D !

Can you imagine if this had happened to Notre Dame :D !

Dylan Thompson had whined to the refs the whole game and im sure they got tired of hearing it. I dont think the whistle had been blown when Barnett slung him around but I do think Danny Obrien got away with one at the end.

He did cry every single time someone even got close to him lol!!! He threw up his hands looking for a flag every other play haha once after the vols defense knocked him to the ground he ran over to the ref saying it was a late hit! Throwing his hands up shacking his head.me and the guys I watched the game with noticed that right away.I figured if he cryed enough he would finally get a call guess it might have just hurt him lol
Atleast Worley took his MANY beatings like a man:)

If the whistle hadn't blown then there shouldn't have (and wasn't) been a flag. More like a late whistle. Vols caught a break.

:D

So, as long as the whistle hasn't blown, the defense can just drag a guy already down until they blow it; and as long as the whistle hasn't blown, the whole defense can line up and take a shot at a downed player?

I suspect the Referee and the Head Linesman each thought the other was going to throw the flag, and by the time they realized that the other wasn't, they decided it was too late.

I also suspect Steve Shaw will be making a phone call to the crew, if he hasn't already.

Play is alive until whistle blows.

Defensive Coordinator John Jancek said he was concerned that defensive end Derek Barnett, who had three sacks on Saturday, would get called for roughing the passer when he twirled Thompson around on his third-down sack that got the Vols the ball back for the final drive in regulation.

"I was looking for that little yellow thing," Jancek said. " I know that he got caught up in the emotion. It was a huge play, it was a huge stop. As soon as he got to the sideline, I said, Man, you can not do that.' He said, What?' I said, What do you mean what?' You spun the guy around.' He was good. He understood once we were able to get him calmed down and explain it to him."
