had a turkey hunt i just tried self filming and was good up until the shot were the turkey was one step out of frame and was thinking id like to set the story line up going a week before when i got onto this specific turkey....to do so i thought maybe a narration or a narration room setting....anyone got any links or ideas of how I might could setup the actual kill hunt with events and a couple of hunts leading up to the date I harvested the turkey.

Tell the story from the woods, not inside the house, at least that's how I'd do it.

But more importantly, was it ol long rope?

Also if you saw my last video, I'm pleased with the way it worked when I put in clips from the previous shot while he was telling the back story. You don't have to always show the guy talking so you can put in footage of previous hunts while you're telling the story.

unfortunately is wasnt ol long rope but was his buddy 'THE BOSS'.....ol long rope was 40 yds behind as usual being subordinate.....the bird i called THE BOSS was nothing more than a stout 2 year old....with 5/8" spurs....but he did all the breeding, strutting, gobbling and flew off the roost first.....im hoping ol long rope steps up and becomes more vocal.

I bet he will, go back and kill him. And congrats on the boss, imagine if he had lived a couple more years how mean he would be.

Windows Movie Maker is a great and FREE video editor.

You can insert video clips in whatever order you wish. It also allows you to split a video into two different ones. Then you could move one, and even insert other video between the two clips.

Personally, I like to have typed words at the bottom of the screen as a scene opens to give little tidbits of info rather than me just telling the info. That keeps the focus on the hunt rather than someone having to listen to me.

just try a set up filming yourself telling a brief synopsis of the history of that bird and previous hunts. Wherever possible, overlay clips of video from previous hunts while you talk to keep it more interesting than just a video of you talking.
