Setterman, is this you?

Re: Setterman, is this you?

That is ridiculous. I've never seen a truly wild turkey look at the ground that much in my life. He looked like and gobbled like a Putnam county domestic turkey.

Re: Setterman, is this you?

They aren't very good actors either. Their feigned excitement was obviously manufactured. Why do people do this stuff?

Re: Setterman, is this you?

Worst type of put and take high fence hunt. Not sure if the shooter was in on the scam or unaware that he killed a domestic royal palm that was stocked recently.

Do you have to tag a domestic Turkey? Serious question.

Re: Setterman, is this you?

I think it would be considered livestock and wouldn't need a tag. On the opposite side of the coin, I'm not sure because of the method of take. He thinks he's hunting a wild turkey.
Would that change the requirement?

It's a fenced "hunting" operation. No license required, just enough money to pay the owner. It's sickening. They are all over this area. See how the area is beaten down to the dirt? That's because it's a small area with hogs, goats, and anything you can imagine penned up in it.

Exactly!

PLEASE Don't Watch the Video! And, no, I did not watch it, and won't.
All you end up doing is making it more likely others will also watch it,
so you end up actually promoting this kind of crap.

people need to watch it and leave comments on it. It's obviously not a fair chase hunt and people should call em out on it.

Boy that calling hurt my ears lol

The reason I disagree with you about this is because I do not believe most "watchers" will be either reading or leaving any comments,
and the video ends up more widely viewed by non-hunters simply because so many people have previously watched it.

Then even more Non-hunters get left with a worse taste in their mouth than real hunters,
after viewing this kind of crap, then go on to show even greater disdain towards real hunters/sportsmen/conservationists,
never realizing the "shooters" and so-called "hunters" in a "canned hunt" video were not "real" hunters.

I don't disagree with this,
just believe the greater good is to not promote the video by watching it.

IMO, even though I admit to not watching this video, I believe it is at least akin to the kind of crap videos that so often turn non-hunters into anti-hunters.

I don't know what to say!

I've spent more hours than I care to admit on YouTube and I've seen far worse videos with far more views than this one. All he did was shoot a tame turkey with poor acting and fake excitement. Trust me there's far worse things out there for us to worry about as hunters.

1.2k views and no comments...nobody seems to be too interested in it. The whole video is silly.

You just made my earlier point.
It is in fact all those "views" that motivates many more people to watch the video.
And, most viewers do not read the comments, much less comment themselves.

I always read the comments, and have never let the number of views a video has received being a factor in whether I watch it or not.

the fact there are no comments suggests most people aren't too interested in the video. I'm not sure what you're so concerned about. If people had something to say, they would say it. 1.2k views is nothing for a YouTube video. Some of the big channels get over a million views within a day of uploading a video. If this video ever gets any real attention, I guarantee there will be people calling him out in the comments for a crappy show of killing a farm turkey. Either way I don't see the big deal.
