I got back into bow hunting last year after giving it up for about ten years. My old bow was set at 60# with only a 30% let off. So, at age 67 I bought a PSE Stinger 3G set up with a Whisker Biscuit and a 50# draw weight and 29 inch draw length. Hunted with 400 29 inch carbon arrows and some old 125 grain Tunderheads last Fall. Thinking, I will buy some traditional 100 grain Muzzy 3 blade broadheads. My arrows are 29 inches. The bow shoots good enough to hit a pie plate, but I'm not totally happy.

Two questions: (1) What spine should I use in my arrows? Should I experiment with stronger and weaker spined arrows? Also (2), is the green Muzzy Broadhead I see on the internet the same traditional Muzzy broadhead that has gotten such good reviews over the years?

I do think I have good shooting form. Also, Just of the record, I killed a six pointer on the last day of the muzzleloader season, and a four pointer on December 30th with a 243 Win. Then this Spring, I went Turkey hunting for the first time and got a 25 pound gobbler. Needless to say, I'm trying to empty my freezer in preparation for this Fall!

I wouldnt go any stiffer for sure. At a 29" arrow I wouldnt go any weaker either. If you were have a 28.5-29" draw length and could trim your arrows off to 28 or even 27.5 you could go with around a 500 spine. Rather than the original Muzzy I like the MX-3's alot better. they seem to fly much better especially at longer distances. And lastly and most importantly I think is make sure the bow is tuned correctly that is the first thing that will shrink those groups down.

I can go with a 28.5 draw length and have room to go to a 28 inch arrow. Will have the tuning checked. I will try the MX-3's. Thanks for taking the time to help. I value your input!
