Report: Jimmy Sexton didn't want to battle Florida over McElwain buyout because of ties to Dan Mullen

https://www.seccountry.com/florida/repo ... dan-mullen

"McElwain's ability to dispute Florida over the buyout is hindered because of his agent Jimmy Sexton's ties with potential candidates. Sexton doesn't want to battle Florida over collecting the entire $12.9 million buyout because he also represents Mississippi State's Dan Mullen, a top candidate to replace McElwain, or could be involved in other future Florida hirings.

"Sexton won't fight it because it's not in his best long-term interest," the source said."

Seriously doubt that. Mac could sue Sexton and win, easily.

It's not Sexton's call to make.

^^^this.

That could be a huge conflict of interest. Your short changing one client for another, Mac would win that all day.

It's all a business negotiation and Sexton is the agent that CJM hired to be the negotiator. Sexton will play a big role and several reports are saying that CJM will walk away with about 4 million, instead of the 12 million buyout. The meltdown last Monday gave UF the green light and might save them approximately 8 million dollars.

CJM has a fire with cause in his contract and many believe that he crossed that line last Monday. If UF fired him with cause there's no buyout. All parties are trying to figure out what the magic # will be..... :?:

Umm... Sexton is Mullen's agent and knows that he might be sitting across from UF's AD and might need to leave a few chips on the table..... :tu:

And that factors into Mac's breakdown how?

THAT is the only thing that will cause MAC to accept a lower buyout, not trying to help FL get their next coach, no matter what Sexton tells him.

Come on man, you're smarter than that. Wait, how many concussions did you have while playing ball :D ?
