How do you guys hold your bow when you shoot it. Do you have your hand open, or do you keep it closed, and grip your bow ?

I open my hand as wide as I can get it to settle the grip then allow fingers to curl back around while still staying relaxed. I have found that helps the 'feel' of the grip to remain the same for each shot.

I shoot mine with my finger tips touching the front of the grip. When I first started I would shoot open hand during practice but when that big buck would come up had a problem with grabing the bow and griping the bow tight. With the finger tip method it stopped that. Of course I got 15 other issues that this won't fix.

When I mentioned open hand , I do have my fingers relaxed and slightly curled, not straight . However , placement of the hand on the grip and wrist position is paramount to reducing torque . You can torque a bow with an open hand with improper hand placement or wrist movement .
Try this when practicing , draw back to full draw with an open hand , then move your wrist and watch the cables . You will see them moving . This is a sure sign of grip torque .
Proper hand placement and reducing wrist movement will also reduce grip torque . Being consistent with proper hand placement will make a huge difference in consistent shooting .
Hand pressure on the grip from a low wrist position , and medium and high wrist will alter your shots as well .

The hand should not be open or closed it should just be. The muscles in the hand should be completely relaxed. The bow grip should sit in the depression between your thumb pad and the structure of the palm. The area that separates the meaty part of the thumb base and the rest of the palm makes a cradle that can be repeated every time. That is where accuracy will come from. It is about repeatabiity.

I allow for a natural curl. I don't claim to be a archery expert, but as a musician, I can tell you that, in order to hold your fingers open, it requires tension. As tension is the opposite of relaxation, I do not see how that is a good thing. That being said, there are people who hold their hand open that shoot much better than me.

Six string?

As a guitar player and archer , I see NO correlation between playing my guitar and holding my bow .
