had this rifle about a year and havent shot it hardly any,,was gonna load some 50 gr VMax with a level casefull of Varget,,loaded 5 rounds with same seating die settings as with my 527V and at 2.285 the bullet stuck in the barrel and pulled the case off the bullet and dumped all powder in the action,,after cleaning all that up I just quit and will start working a load,

wanting a load from 18 1/2 inch 12 twist barrel that I can zero to hold dead on and wont be over 1.75 inches high or low at anypoint to 100 yards,,

once you get by the backwards safety the CZ rifles are designed to work correctly,,even the 69 SMK in the 527V will reach the lands about .070 shorter than mag length,,

when I get the carbine worked out I will be able to stand on the porch and shoot yotes or other critters by just aiming and shoot,,really is a very light and easy handling rifle,,

maybe pics and targets tomorrow,,

oh my goodness this thing will drive nails,,with 27.3 grs Varget and the 50 VMax it will just plain shoot,,

mounted a Bushnell 3200 straight 10 power scope with mildot reticle and is extremely light and easy to handle ,point and shoot,,

the factory sights are dead on at 100 yards with my regular AR ammo and in a real life it very well could be a very good survival type rifle,,
I gotta get it out and really give it a good evaluation,,I had it over a year and havent shot it maybe 100-125 rounds,,

I have a 527 in 7.62x39 and my rifle's accuracy is nothing remarkable but it's plenty good enough to deer hunt with at the ranges the 7.62x39 cartridge will reliably kill a deer. What I like so well about the model 527 is the light weight and short length compared to most rifles. What I don't like is the blasted magazine hanging out of the belly. Why CZ insists on putting an extended box magazine in a bolt action gun is beyond me. The hanging magazine ruins what would otherwise be the perfect carrying rifle by making it impossible to carry the gun one-handed at the balance point. If the magazine held only 3 rounds rather than 5, what difference would it make?

you can get flush mounted bottom metal and 3 round mags from CZUSA and I believe Calhouns Custom rifles makes one also,,

Thanks, Mr Big, but so far it seems the 3 shot magazines are only available for the 223 but I'm still looking at the CZ website spare parts.......you got my hopes up for sure! :)
