Well I must say I didn't go to shoot it but I did anyway. Went to shoot the Z7 Magnum today but they'd sold it to an impatient customer who had to have the first one. But I did shoot the eZ7. It wasn't even a bow on my "want to shoot" list.

I loved how it drew. That's exactly what I'm after...a bow this smooth drawing. I shot it a few times and had to ask what poundage it was on. I was thinking it had to only be on 50 pounds but it ended up being on 60. No harshness in the draw cycle at all. Very quiet bow. No hand shock but you could tell it wasn't a speed bow. I just wish it had more umph to it. But I guess they had to take the umph away to get the smooth draw. If you don't care about speed but are looking for a silky smooth drawing bow...give that eZ7 a look. I've got a whole slough of bow shooting to do now though. Just getting started.

You know it's a sign-of-the-times in the archery world when we refer to a bow that can shoot up to 321fps "not a speed bow". LOL ;)

I would love to shoot one, but my Mathews Reezen and my wife would both hate me.

I have never based my buying decision on speed alone anyway . It's nice to see an honest opinion on draw cycle and the feel of the bow without worrying about IBO speeds .
Good review Crow . ;)

That looks like a good bow. Unless there was big difference in feel I would do with a Z7 Xtreme over it though. 4" shorter ATA and a little more brace height and speed. I like shorter ata bows though.

Not me . To each his own I guess .

I agree. I was enjoying just reading what crow said. That review makes me want to shoot it.

I'll tell you fellas this much...usually when I shoot a bow I don't shoot them more than once. I can tell whether I like it or not with just one shot. I've even had a couple that I just drew back and never fired; not having liked how they even drew and not even caring how they shot. So I am VERY particular with the bows I shoot. I shot the eZ7 several times and had to make myself put it back. lol.

I have shot the Z7 and Z7Extreme. Didn't care for either of them personally. There is a HUGE difference in my opinion, of how they drew compared to the eZ7.

Mathews never has been true to their posted IBO speeds anyway. I've never seen one that was anyway. So I was figuring with my 28" draw length and my hunting arrows, that the eZ7 would only put me in the upper 270 fps range. I've got a whole heap of bows to shoot though. I'm particularly interested in the new MR7 but they wont be out until about 17 more weeks. But I'm in no hurry. I ain't owned a Mathews since the original Switchback came out so I'm not one of their poster boys.

YOU MAY BE SOON :)

IBO speeds listed by most manufacturers are very hard to obtain . They are just a selling point reference . I like to go by feel . Grip , draw cycle , balance . When shooting, I want a smooth draw cycle , steady , torque free , quiet shot . Some bows just have the right feel in my hand and inherent accuracy that gives me confidence .
The eZ7 would be a bow I would shoot if buying a new bow today . I'm glad Crow posted this , because I also didn't like the draw cycle of the Z7 I tried out last year. The eZ7 would fit the bill for me .

On my next stretch of 5 off I am going to Grants in Dalton to do some shooting. I've only been down there once but as I was researching the bows I have on my "to shoot" list, I noticed they were a dealer for 3 of them, PSE, Mathews, and BowTech. So that will be beneficial having all 3 under one roof. The Pse EVO is one on my list to shoot.

I will admit I am scared of PSE bows though. They came out with the X-Force in what, 2007 and every year since then they have changed something on them. I don't like that. I realize new testing and such may bring on new discoveries in making a good thing better but a lot of theirs was to just market and sell the same ole thing.

Oh and one more thing. About the speed thing. I'm not a speed freak by no means. I utilize the speed for a whole different reason: I like throwing telephone poles at deer instead of arrows. When you start hitting the 400+ grain range, at a 28" draw, there just ain't a lot of umph left if your starting IBO was just 300-310. With the newer smoother drawing speed bows in the 340s and such at IBO, I can throw a heavy arrow at decent speeds; say the 280s to 290s in some cases. That's what I'm after.

I love my PSE's . Nothing to be scared of . They change cams and risers a little from year to year , but they have to stay innovative to follow the market trends towards , shorter and faster bows as well as offer bows that suit other those who prefer a longer ATA and brace , yet they don't want to stray too far from a great design with the X-force technology . PSE has been around a long time , they are a good company.
I have owned more PSE bows over the years than any other brand . Not a fanboy , I just like their technology and the way they shoot for me . I love the way the torque free grip settles into my hand and smooth draw cycle for a speed bow . I have a 08 Dream Season 7 .

I also had the '08 Dream Season. Great shooting bow but the problem at the time FOR ME was that there wasn't any PSE dealers around locally. All of them were close to 2 hour drive one way away. None of the other shops around here had a bow press that could press the X-Force or Dream Season. So just doing simple things on the bow was a pain by not having the right press for the bow. Now all the shops have a press that will work on those style bows but at the time they didn't. I actually bought my Dream Season from a dealer on Archery Talk, brand new in the box for $450. I drove to two shops that were PSE Pro Series dealers that were selling the same bow for $900.

What REALLY made me suspicious of them was the next year I think it was...'09 when they changed the cams to the GX or GLX or whatever it was. Folks were going on about how smooth it was and such...then when 2010 came around and they changed the cams again, those same people were bashing the 2009 cams saying how they really felt about the cams and that they weren't smooth at all. So I really don't put a lot of stock in them when they are saying this year about the Evo and such. I'll shoot it and make that decision on my own :)

I take opinions on AT and other forums with a grain of salt . I read opinions about Mathews latest and greatest bows every year and how much better they were than the previous latest and greatest model .
It has nothing to do with what a company is putting out . The best thing to do is to shoot a bow and arrive at your own opinion . I traded a bow for an Athens Accomplice that everyone was raving about how smooth and quiet it was on AT (mostly prostaffers) It's a nice bow , but not nearly as quiet as my PSE .
I bought parallel , split limb adaptors for my Bowmaster and backed out the limb bolts a few turns on my Dream Season to press it . I had to be careful and make sure they didn't slip on the limb tips , But I changed out the cable on it myself .

I had to buy the same adapters to work on my Bow Madness XS. They worked great and it doesn't seem like it takes the amount of pressure to press the bow. I used them on my DXT when I changed the cam here back and it was an absolute pain. The adapter was all kind of in the way. For about anything else I would say they are great. Just FYI to anyone that has got them. The guy I talked to at Bowmaster didn't recommend using them on bows where the limbs where past parallel at rest. They may work fine but I thought I would just past that along.
