Hey yall, I've been bow hunting with this bow for the past 2 years. Some people say you should replace the strings after that amount of time. Do you guys see anything here that would be cause for concern about leaving it for another season? I've had no issues with accuracy loss or anything. Would you guys let it ride or go ahead and replace?

I'd wait until it breaks. Of course it will probably break when you have a buck in your sights. But that's okay, you will a great story about the biggest buck you ever saw, but it got away when your bow string broke.

🤣 I'm just kidding, I'd replace it.

lol fair enough. Is the unraveling on the cams considered extensive?

I cut halfway through one of my strings with a handsaw. It was cringey pulling it back but I put a piece of duct tape on it so it wouldn't unravel anymore. I finished the last week of bow season with it like that and replaced it before the next deer season.

I've got a little more money now, so I'd probably handle it differently now, but take it for what it's worth.

Personaly, when the servng starts seperating like in the first pic, i replace the strings and cables. Cheaper than it breaking and a limb flying apart and cracking you in the head, sending you to the er or heaven

Had a string break on my bow 1 time, replaced it and gave it away, it was to guy on here that had his stolen, forgot who it was but been a long time ago it wupped the snot out of my face, decided I didn't much care for bow hunting.

I shoot a Diamond so Hoyt may not be the same but I've been told "stock strings" aren't very good. Or at least not as good as "aftermarket" strings. I think you'd be well served with a new set of strings.
