Nah, they are the new Duravane Fusion. I have shot Blazers for along time, but after shooting these vanes for awhile now I won't go back. They are an AWESOME vane. Check them out if you get a chance. :)

What's the advantage of the shield cut vanes.

I'll post my pics tonight.

I really don't know what the advantage of the shield cut is. But they are thicker and stiffer than a blazer vane. The base on this vane just sits on the shaft great! I know alot of people lately have been running into problems getting blazers to stick well. No worries with this vane. They sound the same in flight as a blazer also.

The shield cut doesn't actually have any advantage other than just a little piece of our archery heritage being held on to. It does allow for a little higher profile to be gained on the fletching. But I also seen on these fusion vanes that they weighed 7 grains each. That is 21 grains plus the glue on the back end of the shaft. This will stiffen the spine of the arrow. But that isn't the problem most folks have,it is really the opposite way ... needing to gain weight on the front end to balance out the shaft and get their FOC closer to 10-15 %. But for my opinion shield cut fletching just looks plain cool.

Here are my 2. The first one is my Mathews Monster. I just replaced the grip with a Torqueless today.

This is my Mathews Prestige. The only thing I don't have on it yet is my wrist sling which I just ordered yesterday.
