I've dealt with silverskin on deer for years, but wondered in commercial pork and beef have the same tough covering that needs to be removed?
What about wild/feral hogs?

Yes, you do a decent amount of trimming for commercial beef. Beef loins have every bit as much silver skin as venison backstraps. Wild hogs have a comparable amount of silver skin to deer.

Thanks.
Beef and pork come packaged so perfect and smooth, it is hard to tell what covered that cut.

The commercial trimming cuts off the uneven layers of fat and weird shaped muscle. Always remove the silverskin, especially on tender muscles like a loin/tenderloin.
