That's the number of calls I'm planning on using this year. I love me some pot calls and have more than I'll ever need. I narrowed it down to Schaffer's Atomic 13, Dawkins aluminum, Halloran's Twisted Sister and Crystal Mistress, Lonzo's maple slate, and Sneed's Hot Hen.

All are custom made calls since it has been scientifically proven to guarantee success. I can't argue with science.

What call do you like best and why?

Nice set of calls no doubt. The only negative I see is you, nor anyone else with that lineup, will be able to blame anything on the calls.

The word addiction comes to mind. nice group of calls.

The word "addiction" gets such a bad wrap these days. I prefer "passion" or "I-can't-stop-buying-pot-calls" to describe my condition...

Not so fast. The slate is still susceptible to moisture. Slate is always a good scapegoat...

That's like asking which of my children I love the most (which would be easy since I only have one...for now).

I killed one with the Lonzo slate last year the very first time I used it. However, if I could only use one, I'd have to go with the Crystal Mistress. This call can literally do it all. If I could only use two, I'd go with the Mistress and the Atomic 13. The Atomic 13 is a slate and an aluminum all in one call.

Not if you carry a Bic lighter. Turn the slate upside down, flick your lighter, start in the center and rotate the flame in circles outward toward the edge, holding the tip of the flame right below the slate. The moisture will evaporate as you will notice with the changing color of the slate surface (light gray = no moisture). You will also hear quite a differance in the sound of the call. Quick fix for moisture content in slate.

After using all the calls this season, my top three are:

1. Halloran Crystal Mistress
2. Lonzo's Maple Slate
3. Schaffer's Atomic 13

I ended up selling the Dawkin's aluminum.

One of these days I'm going to get a good crystal pot call. I rarely carry pot calls hunting but have heard some good sounds from the custom crystal ones.

This year I used 2 or 3 different wingbones, 2 or 3 different mouth calls and two different tubes. The wingbones still win out for my favorite sound and effectiveness, even though they don't make more than a couple different vocalizations.

I carried a vest full of calls, and my trumpet and mouth call caused all the deaths I witnessed.

I plan on owning a trumpet from Steve Turpin before Spring 2016. I would really like to learn how to use one. I messaged Steve 2 days ago about one.
