Slick Trick guys

I shoot the 85 grain trick. Groups great, cuts very well, blood trail great. Profile a little smaller than the 100, but does the job for me.

Fletched with 3 fusion in right helical.

Hope this helps!

I haven't tried it. I use the 100gr Magnum heads and they are great. Any particular reason you're looking at the 85gr version? I'm considering moving to the 125gr heads to increase my FOC.

right now i shoot a ultimate steel 75 and dont want the 25 grain jump, just wondering how the blades held up as money will be tight for a little while

The blades are the same as the 100gr 1" regular version with lighter ferrules (90+ % sure). You shouldn't have blade problems.

Ditto, I shoot the 100 gr. magnum heads too . I'm shooting feathers , so my FOC is good with 100 gr. heads . I have never cared for heads lighter than 100 gr.

I was gonna say that as well. I would sacrafice the small gain of speed with the 85grn for the 100grn with a better FOC.

I get the FOC thing, but you can add/remove or relocate weight on an arrow in several ways. I shoot the 85, and with weight forward arrows the same overall grain weight (my draw length is 30, so I don't cut my arrows) the kinetic energy is way more than enough at 74 lbs. complete passthroughs on well placed shots.

I'm not trying to argue here, just saying how the arrow performs has a lot more to do with the overall arrow weight, and where that weight is distributed than a 15 grain difference in broadhead weight. 15 grains up front is nothing IMHO.

Very valid points. Possum Hunter said he isn't looking to spend money so new arrows are out right now.

I use Axis arrows built with 12% FOC and KE of 63.13. If I increase point weight to 125gr my FOC jumps to 14% and KE to 64.7....both at the price of a whopping 5fps speed loss. Either combo is fine for deer hunting, but I'm going elk hunting next year. I'm starting a year in advance working out the best arrow setup for that trip. I'm also testing different vanes....I'm a tweaker :D

I'll try not to be jealous of your DL :D

Have you tried the FFP-360's yet?

Not yet. I'm going to get some as soon as I figure out what points I need for indoor (one special order from the shop). I have about 3doz Axis shafts sitting in the corner. I need to cut them and set inserts. I plan to test at least 4 different fletchings this winter. My setup now is really good with BHs out to 40yds, which is waaaay farther than I'll shoot at a deer this year. I'll share the results when I'm done. I had planned to do the testing by now, but "stuff" got in the way.

I tried the FFP-360's against Flash, Blazers, and Fusion. There wasn't a huge difference, but the FFP-360's gave me tighter groups with my Slick Tricks.
