I'm looking to change broadheads this year and am looking at slick tricks based on the praise they've gotten on this site. Does anyone have any experience with the flight characteristics of the standard 125 gr vs the magnum 125 gr? I'm curious to know how much difference the 1/8 cutting diameter affects flight. My setup is a Bowtech Admiral shooting right at 300fps, Gold Tip Ultralight 400 shafts with 125 grain tips and rayzr feathers, they punch bullet holes through paper and have a 15.4% FOC. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have used the standard and magnum 100gr STs, but not the 125gr version.

No deviation in flight, but I'm only shooting ~260fps. At your speed you might be better with the smaller blade size. I've never shot anything that fast that didn't have gun powder :D

The ferrule is the same for standard and magnum. By a pack of standards with a set of magnum replacement blades. That way you can try both. Best prices I've seen are at www.meanvarchery.com His prices include shipping.

Let us know how they work for you.

I have had the same results as JayMC. My bow is also shooting much slower than yours. I shoot the 100gr. standards and love them. I would suggest calling Slick Trick, the owners name is Gary Cooper. Check out there website @ Slick Trick You cant beat there Guarantee, if you are not satisfied for any reason they will refund or replace.

Same here, both fly the same for me. Funny, Basspro in Memphis sells the heads, but never has any blades. I've asked them several times, but no one knows why. Still,a great head.

I bought some 85 grain heads. Can I be confident with a tuned bow that I can put these on my arrows and they will fly close enough as a field tip to be ethical out to 40 yards?

Yeah, but with your DL and heavy arrows you'll get better flight with heavier BHs. Why did you go so light?

Yes, but check them. Don't assume it.

It isn't broken, but it has never been put together all the way. The arrow and 125gr tip combo is brand new to me. I've never shot 125gr tips before so I am starting from scratch with broadheads. After my research and the responses on here I'm definitely gonna get some Slick Tricks and give them a try.
