slooooow youth hunt at LBL this weekend......

Landen and I gave it our best shot this weekend at LBL but came home empty handed. Lots of good memories from the weekend out. In 5 miles of walking yesterday we heard 1 gobble right as we stepped out of the truck and then 2 over in a safety zone. Today we hunted in a couple of different spots. Called one right into our laps about midday - he made one gobble - then he vanished.

Was there myself. Came close Sunday morning and had one just over the next ridge but after about 15 min he worked his way off. We should have been a little more aggressive. Fairly new to turkey hunting so every hunt is a new adventure. Son had a great time though. We did see a bald eagle fly close to our vehicle as we pulled into the camp ground.

Yeah we had a bald eagle fly over the field we were watching on Sat and had a guy point out a nest to us yesterday. Pretty cool.
