30 pounds of Shrimp and 10 pounds of snapper

Snapper isn't the most fun fish to catch but is sure is delicious. The limit is only 2 per person, so we took 5 kids on opening day.

I bought the shrimp straight off the boat in Bon Secour, AL $4.50/pound 15-20 count(per pound)

Shrimp heads with some root vegetables makes excellent seafood stock for gumbo, eutoufee and creole.

Snapper generally put up a strong fight and I really like the taste.

How far offshore, any idea?

You really making me hate that I'm missing my annual trip to Dauphin Island.
That looks delicious!

You use a charter or a your own boat?

My Step Brothers boat. 5 kids 20 miles offshore in a 19ft boat is a heck of an adventure! We probably really only had 1.5 hours of fishing time. You really don't go snapper "fishing" you just go get them. Gotta know where to go though.

Yea they arent that fun to catch. Lot of work. I just got back from Venice LA. One guy described it as reeling up a cinder block from 200 ft deep. Cant wait to cook em though.
