With all the talk about how harmful corn can be poured on the ground, what about PLANTING it early in the fall and hunting it come late fall...Will the standing corn still get the afltoxin corn on the ground can get? I like the cover standing corn can provide along with the drawing power late in the yr.

Standing corn can have aflatoxin, but generally standing into the cold weather kills the aflatoxin producing mold.

i sure hope so or iowa, illinois, missouri, and kansas are in big trouble. seriously it works great if you can plant larger plots.

if you know of any farmers that plant corn in the spring, check with them. they usually will have a piece of a bag left over.
bt corn is usually real expensive. believe it or not a large amount of your good seed is sold by the seed count, because farmers plant so many seed per acre and not pounds per acre.
for example: the sunflower seed that i use comes 200,000 seed per bag and i am planting about 25000 seed to the acre.

no i have never counted the seed in a bag

Corn seed comes 80000 kernals per bag.For field crops we usually plant 26000-28000 plants per acre. For a food plot you shouldnt need that many.
