What's the best way to test the soil for ph ? One of those of do it your kits or the lab and if I send it off to the lab how I go about doing that and how long it usually takes to get the results back ? Thanks for any info

I've been using Biologic.

You just print form, fill it out, send in soil sample with it in ziploc bag and they email you results in 3 to 4 days. I like that they break down lime and fertilize in square ft and acres

It's really pretty simple and fast.

Whitetail Institute also will email your results and you get it back fast. They are the way I've gone when soil testing. Which ever way you go, it's important to not skip a soil test. I was surprised a few years ago when I discovered how low the Ph had gotten in some areas of our farm. Without a soil test to tell me so, I'd have skipped lime and had a miserable plot failure.

Im going tomarrow to get some. Im going to refreshen the mineral sites . Starting to get some decent antlers on the bucks

I use the $7 UT Extension test in Nashville A. Hall mentioned. You can tell them what you intend to plant and they will make a specific lime and fertilizer recommendation for what you are planting.
