This is Nick my 12 year old son and on the Juvy hunt we slept in and hit the woods about 10am on my Wilson county lease. We had done quite a bit of preseason scouting so we knew where the birds where. We gave light yelps every 20 min or so for about an hour when finally a bird gobbled. 15 min and several yelp/gobbles later, 3 big toms came in and he picked the largest and boom.....this was one very excited 12 year old. The bird was 23 pounds, 10.5 inch beard and 1.25 inch spurs. An awesome first Turkey. The second pic was yesterday. We called in three different groups of birds. The first was 3 Jakes and I made him hold off. An hour later three Toms came to 15 yards and he missed. He was so upset but I told him just relax we may get another chance at some other birds. Well, an hour later 3 more Toms started gobbling and heading our way. This time he didn't miss. Second bird was 20 pounds, 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. Oh and yes he did lose a shirt tail when we got home!
