Didn't start off good this morning with high winds. Only heard 2-3 gobble as they flew down. No hens even yelped. Walked and called and sat at 3 other spots and nothing. Come out about 1045 and drove over to the field on the other side of property and walked down the edge about 50yrds and pulled out the mouth call and had one cut me off close. We sat down I noticed movement in the edge on other side and 2 long beards emerged. They stood there looking like they were unsure where she was with the high winds and I gave em another yelp softer. They started towards us then I caught movement in the corner of my eye and slowly looked and two Jakes were coming from our right. Having blood in his eyes he couldn't wait on the longbeards and slowly turned and dropped one of the Jakes. It might as well been the state record as far as we both cared as happy as we both were for a 7yr olds first bird and my first with a mouth call. He's hooked no
