Finally on the board. Good ridge running Longbeard. Although it is impossible to ever tell, I've been dominated by a Gobbler that sets up on this particular ridge three years in a row now. Been on him off and on since the opener. Found him alone this morning and gobbling good on the limb. Got tight on him, let him fly down and went to work. Gobbled probably 60 times while standing his ground for over an hour and a half. Little bit of clucking, two repositions, and a whole lot of leaf scratchin finally got him to break and come take a look. Good fat worn down 1.25 straight spurs. I'd like to believe he is the same one that has whipped me the past few years :)

congrats on a great bird. I had one for 3 years that did the same to me. I finally got him next to last week of season last year. I snuck in early and just set up. started getting light, he hammered away about 70 yards even with me. did a couple of soft calls, he pitched out to the top of the ridge. stood up on top gobbling and strutting for close to an hour. I just shut up and moved my foot in the leaves some. finally seen him coming when he 25 yards away. thru the gun up when he walked behind a big oak about 15 yards and got when he stepped out. only weight 18.5lbs, but have 12" paint brush beard, 1.375 & 1.438 spurs. He Was practically bald from breast down when he had been breeding so much. One of my most memorable hunts ever.
