I have a mighty tall order and trust me, if it doesn't get filled, I completely understand.

My Dad and brother come down every year for a week of turkey hunting. They both live out of state and this year they are coming down April 14th. My Dad is 76 and has trouble walking due to his age and my brother (51) suffered a mild stroke a few weeks ago and also has a little trouble walking since his balance was affected. Luckily, his cognitive skills were untouched.

Anyhow, I just found out two days before the Young Sportsman hunt that the farm we were going to hunt in Williamson county is no longer available. If anyone has an easy to get to turkey spot in the mid-Tennessee area they'd be willing to offer for a day or two in mid-April (anytime between the 16th-20th), I'd be deeply indebted. I wouldn't have to hunt but I would be with them to guide them.

Like I said, I know what a tall order this is but if anyone has any ideas, shoot me a pm. Thanks guys!

My leases are locked to bring people in but I know of alot of public land around Cordell Hull that isn't terrible to access. I would look into that. If I can think of anything else or talk to a few people I will let you know. I don't own any land myself but I am sure some people on here do. Also call the TWRA they will usually help you out.

If nothing else comes in guys, I may give you a call. The drive isn't so bad, I just need a place that is relatively easy access by walking or ATV. Thank you so much for the offers!

I don't know how far is to far to walk but I know where some spots on a yanahli wma I can set you guys up on

got land in macon co your welcome to hunt would be glad to take you.thats about the end of our gobbling but they should still be there. If only twra would open season earlier .lol

About my TWRA post...

It may sound odd, but I know for a fact the branch in Crossville has helped people out. I have sent at least two people to them and they hooked them up with people they knew for land and hunts. I had two women wanting to go and i couldn't take them when they were coming. They set them up and one of the ladies got a bird. I didn't mean that the twra guided hunts but I know that my game warden and the one from back home are always willing to help and put people in contact with others. Sorry didn't realize they were all that way.

I think the irony is that BigGameGuy IS the TWRA. But you made a good call.

If the WMA manager made an allowance for a disabled or elderly hunter to access part of the area via 4-wheeler, there's a lot of acreage there to deal with, and it's close to home.

It's still my only "lease", and this will be my first turkey season, so I'm not much help. Get on ye olde TN Property Viewer and locate those fields where you regularly see birds, then contact the owner.

I can't thank everyone who responded to this thread enough for their generosity. As soon as I get through this week, I may be calling a few of you to take you up on your offer. It's very much appreciated.

Good to hear some folks are opening up their land for your Dad and brother, hope they kill some birds
