Perfection cannot be the enemy of good.

I'm not a big baseball fan, but sports needs to come back. MLB can make a powerful message as "Americas Game" by being the first league to come back. It may have some speed bumps, but America needs a pleasant distraction.

82 game season
Teams only play within their geographical area
Universal DH
14 playoff teams
~55 days until opening day

X2 hopefully it will give us a feeling of some normalcy. I hated to see the Little League World series get cancelled.

Have to admit that I will watch (probably not a whole game though).

I'm glad. Wish I could go sit at the ballpark and watch a game.

Fauci's testimony to the senate today was disheartening. He doesn't believe schools should start until there is a good vaccine. No school, I imagine no football or basketball either.

They probably 2-3 years away from getting a good vaccine. I don't think the rest of the US is going to sit around and wait that long. And IMHO I don't expect Fauci to be around much longer either. Tentions are just too high between him and the WH.

I heard on a national sports show earlier this week that there were revenue disputes brewing if MLB comes back. They have a real opportunity here and would be a shame if they pissed it away with something like that.
Be good to get any live sports back.
I am worried about football season too. We'll see how it goes.

MLB, the NHL and the NBA are all talking about coming back in the next few weeks. A few states have said they wouldn't allow it. Texas said "come here".

There are also NASCAR, golf and UFC that are already "back" but many states are not allowing events to happen in their borders.

MLB is making the worst decisions possible.

Millionares arguing with Billionares over money (health/COVID is not even a significant part of their negations) to play a game that most of us played as children is not a good look.

Honestly I thought I would miss sports a lotore than what I do. I was really disappointed when they cancelled March Madness. I like college sports more than pro. But now I don't think I am going to consume a lot anymore. I got a lot more done around the house, more time in the woods, gym and lake. Plus with how politicized all sports are becoming it makes it easier to stay away. I don't want to hear someone's political opinions every time I turn on a game or be told how I should think. If I wanted that I would turn on the news not a college game. So all in all I think I am done. Not saying I won't watch anything ever but it is going to become way down on the list of things to do with my time.

The state of Iowa just finished their 2019-2020 high school baseball season and had nearly 30,000 fans in attendance for the state baseball championship. High schools played through the Spring/Summer when the MLB wouldn't.

Well its official. College football is back. Along with UFC, NASCAR, Golf, Basketball, and pretty much every other sport.

I have never watched any of the pro stuff, but the first college football game was entertaining. I know a lot of people aren't watching anymore, but I really think America needs it as some form of normalcy.
