I wonder if anyone has been following the Card's recently.

Stephen Piscotti was a Cardinals outfielder who seemed to be be able to hit and field. There are dozens like him. His Mom developed ALS. The Cardinals prevailed upon the Athletics to take Piscotti in a deal so he could be near his Mom.

The Athletics took the deal. Piscotti was able to live at home and was at his Mom's side when she passed a few weeks ago.

I have to say the Cards moved way up the ladder of decency in my book. Just a class thing they did with no horn blowing or publicity, nothing. Just human decency.

Life long Cards fan. They have a top quality front office, always have. I remember sneaking in a radio to my bed as a kid to listen to Jack Buck and Harry Carey doing the radio. Young folks can't appreciate that we used to get one game per week for baseball and it was Saturday afternoon. The only way to keep up with your team was with a crappy transitor radio.

St Louis fan for forty years. Watched them play whitey small ball, seen the wizard of Oz. They have always been player and fan friendly.
