just curious to what stabilizers you guys use and why you chose them. i'm looking to get a new stabilizer for my new bow. i want one that is 4-6 in. thanks.

Anything 4-6" won't really stabilize much. If you want something short, a Limbsaver S-Coil is cheap and does about as good of a job as any dampening vibes.

With today's new bows a stabilizer isn't really a stabilizer but more so as a dampener. A more useful type of stabilizer would be an offset bar to counter balance the sights, quiver and rest mounts.

Thanks guys. Keep them coming.

I'm actually just wanting a stab to help eliminate any vibration. I've shot bows with longer stabs and never really felt much difference. They just got in the way while hunting. This is not for competition.

I use an old AEP 12" stabilizer with 7.5oz of forward weight that I have had for years. I chose this because I like having ability to put as little, or as much, forward weight on the bow for added stability.

I shoot a 12" B-Stinger with 11oz out front for hunting, spots, and the little 3D I shoot. I expect every bit as much accuracy out of my hunting bow as I would a target rig. However, length in itself doesn't do anything to resist movement.

Went from a limbsaver s coil to a Doinker Dish 12" hunter. Has the same vibration dampening to me, and I can hold much steadier. I have a quick connect on my bow, so it can be taken off easier to fit in my case. Hope this helps.

thanks for the input guys. after shooting my new bow without a stabilizer, i realized that there wasn't much vibration. i bought an 8 in. x-factor stab and really like it.

I use a Sims Limbsaver s-coil with a 2.5 inch extention which makes it about 7.5 overall.
Stabilizes VERY well and a good hunter too.

I also didn;t see much difference in accuracy as far as hunting, except those two years when I shot with a permanent quiver. That rig used a longer (8") stabilizer; now I just use a Doinker 4"
