stealth dust

this cracks me up, kind of like scent lock forget the wind just hunt lol, save your self a bunch of money and scout then hunt the wind accordingly.

nothing's fool proof hard to beat a deer's nose that is what God gave them to survive.i agree about hunting the wind just seen deer come down wind many times and they did not spook.deer dander made by dan fitzgerald also helped cover my scent.that stealth dust was origanaly made for eliminating chicken litter I think in Arkansas or Oklahoma not for sure.

Scent killer works well for me.. And keep all odors away from your clothes, take a good shower before your hunt.. Don't wear hunting boots or clothes except to hunt... Have other clothes for scouting and setting up spots... That's what I do, and works well... I think I only had one deer spook down wind last yr and it was inside 50 yrds, and I was hunting on the ground...
I agree deadeye.. Winds are to variable.. I am very scent cautious and hold little regard to wind direction.. I am more successful this way. I get to hunt my best spots at the best time, regardless of wind..
I do think a good scent lol suit needs to be added to my regimen.. And actually used the way it's supposed to be...

May be over kill, but it gives me confidence... Also scent control varies by importance with the given property IMO...
Also depends on what age deer your after.. I'm really only after 4 yr old bucks or better, however I have a hard time passin on some 3 yr olds...

I'm not about the latest and greatest always, but technology has come a long way.. Some things simply work.. You may not need it to kill a deer, but that doesn't mean it doesn't give u an advantage...

really don't like using sprays but if I had to I would during cold times did not like to spray myself down if I had to put more on in my stand stealth dust worked for me dusty a little but was good to keep my scent down had bucks circle me and never smelled me.

No question about it. To kill a deer or turkey with archery equipment, you absolute need the right camo and all the scent killing stuff you can find.

I spit wintergreen Grizzly, urinate out of my stand and in every fresh scrape I come to and break just about every other taboo myth rule you can think of.

Common sense will save you a great deal of money and worry. It went against just about every outdoor writer's concept for me to write about not wasting money on the latest major gimmick. When I first wrote human urine was every bit as effective as any product on the market, they wanted to hang me. Why waste money? However, I am a huge proponent of ThermaCell because it dang sure works and I field tested it in the worst bug country in the world before anyone ever heard of it. It works, so I promoted it.

If a product works, then sure write about it. Why not? But give every product some thought before buying it. I believe in ASAT camouflage. However, I don't think it is magic or "tremendously" better than any other camo pattern. I just believe it gives me more versatility in that one set of the 3-D can be worn over anything and it works. I believe in Muck boots because they work. I don't wear them much, only when it is really wet because a knee-high, rubber boot does not do one thing to mask your scent. Mostly, I wear tennis shoes. But Muck boots are comfortable-you can walk in them all day, easy to get on and off. They keep your feet dry. What else can you ask?

I could write an entire article on the myths involved in deer hunting. The rubber boot thing is probably the most widely believed followed maybe by the moon phase deal. I know the two guys who sort of invented that one. Both have been proven wrong but still, many hunters buy into it. And both, would you believe, are kinda outdoor writers. Golly feature that.

The same is true of boundary rubs, primary scrapes and a host of other myths outdoor writers invented simply because they could sell an article based on them.

In other words, believe very little of what you read if it is something brand new. I have been killing deer for 60-years and I can count on one hand the number of products that really changed deer hunting in terms of killing more deer.
