Still Liking The Moultrie Panoramic

Cool pics and a cool feature! I've been debating trying one of the new Moultries. I see the tall rack gene was passed on in the area.

Guys I dont have the panoramic but I have some IR-35 and IR-55 I believe, they are older models, roughly 3-4 years old. They have taken probably 10,000 pics a piece and are still going strong. I left the cover of one open when I was in a hurry one day and of course it was right before a tsunami, but after the humidity burned out, it was fine. I dont do alot of product reviews, but I hated to pass this one up. These are great cameras for the money.

They are not totally silent when the lens move, so I won't use it in the woods on scrapes. Have some black flash ones for that anyway. However, for watching plots I think it is very cool. It should be the ticket for post-season surveys. One thing that I am impressed with is how far out it will trigger. The closest deer in the above pics is at least 30 yds away from camera. Have some other pics from this set that are minimum 50 yards away!

Wow. Trail-cams are usually design NOT to trigger on distant animals, as they would be outside the range of night-time flash. Is the Panoramic a daytime only camera? Most motion sensors are not only software limited, but physically unable to trigger on motion beyond 50-60 feet (17-20 yards).

Very cool tellico4x4. Does the unit have three cameras or does a single camera take three image from different angles when triggered?

Single camera with moving lens. I've only had it a few weeks. Suppose to be able to set it to just take one pic within a 150 degree range. I guess if a deer walked on left side, the lens would move left & take pic.

Fascinating Tellico4x4. That cam has a lot of applications.

More stuff to tear up

Seriously you are right. I only own Moultrie cameras, I have several models and can't complain about any. I like this Panoramic one but I wanna see future reviews of how they hold up. I just don't know about that moving lens. If it's as reliable as the other models I'm gonna have to have one. I'm like you, moving parts will break sooner or later..

It's good to see Moultrie improving their quality. Back about 5 years ago, I tested several Moultrie cameras. Every one failed with 6 weeks. I vowed never to buy another Moultrie.
