I am still looking, hoping, and praying for a place to take my dad to celebrate 30 years in a wheelchair...his accident was March 12, 1984.
After his rookie season as a turkey hunter nearly 10 years ago, he went on a streak...killing 4 birds in 3 years. Needless to say, he was hooked. Then our lease was clearcut and the turkeys left. The last 5 years have been pretty dry for him. A few close calls on public land, but no flopping turkey due to other hunters interfering. He definitely has longbeard withdrawal syndrome...if I could surprise him with a hunt it would blow his mind!!
Is there someone out there willing to share a turkey or two from some of their private stock to help him celebrate? We are physically relentless and will do whatever it takes to get him on one! Don't think of an average wheelchair hunter and let that deter you. This guy is tough!! Thanks guys...I would love to chat with anyone interested in helping and let you get to know us before you committed. Also, thanks to all of you who responded to my previous post saying that you would help if you could. I am a public land hunter myself and totally understand!!
