I was hunting Sat morn when a doe stepped out at 30 yds from me.
I hooked my release on my string loop and started to draw on her.
Half-way thru my draw my string loop came untied and I about knocked myself out. This string loop was installed by a "Pro".
What I need to know is how to tie one on right.
THANK YOU. And its ok to laugh i did after i quit cussing.

Bummer. I haven't had my string loop untie, but I did launch an arrow into the woods at the range due to not getting my quick release correctly hooked on. :(

One thing I like to do is wax the string loop very good . This allows the knot to tighten up on the string better .

Sounds like he didn't put a good burnball on one of the ends. lol, I have seen someone hit themselves that way. It is feel bad lol moment for sure!!! lol

new into bows here, but does anyone use a release on the string just under the nock point, no loop? i thought i saw my cousin do this last time we shot and i'm pretty sure he doesn't have a loop. would this change your draw length?

It doesn't change the draw length , but it does change the anchor point .

I also use super-glue on the knot as I tighten it. That with the burned bulbs on the ends and I've never had a problem. Just tighten it quick if you use the super-glue.

Definitely wax the loop good before you tie it. Makes it stick to the serving better. Another tip is to take a pair of needle nose plyers and pinch the loops together before you tighten it. Never had a loop break, but back in the day the Scott Old Faithful releases were notorious for that. Had one break and wacked me in the mouth. I swallowed a half a can of Skoal and saw stars for 20 minutes.
