Went to a place after work today and saw something I never have. Had 3 hens come in the field and had been there for a good hour. Looked across the field and saw birds walking down the fence line and finally came in. All of a sudden I see one coming over the rise in full strut. It has a full fan so I think great its not a Jake. Grab the binos and try getting a better look but no beard. I glance back left and see a strutter at the other end and think up oh its game time. I start looking at them and realize these are not longbeards but two hens. The one made a beeline for the other and they carried on for quite a bit going round and round in circles. One jumped up a few times in an attempt to kick the other one. It was the darndest thing. I videod it on my phone but can't get it to upload to photobucket (not sure that's even possible). Here's a few pics I managed to take without getting busted. Thankfully was nestled into a cedar bush with good cover around me.

Very cool. About 3 years ago dad and I called up a hen behind us and she gobbled several times. She eventually walked around in front of us making all sorts of racket. It was the craziest thing I ever saw in the turkey woods

We busted a fall flock year before last and called two hens back in gobbling their heads off

Seen one last weekend strutting and picking a fight with 30 other hens.Every time I've seen a hen puffed up,she was always fighting.
