saw the first birds of this year strutting this morning out in a field. there were 30 hens a few jakes one double bearded bird who didnt strut but 4 big gobs strutting. watched them for about 15 minutes with binocs. man i cant wait
 
anyone herd any gobbling yet? i hunt in mississippi also and season opens in a month here. i got up and went to listen this morning but didnt hear anything.
 
had to travel to Somerset, Ky for business on Tuesday and between London and Somerset, saw a large group with several strutters. First ones i have seen this year

Its done over in my area and they are back in their winter flocks... :D
oh yeah, my birds did this year's breeding last spring, they are in winter flocks now until next spring. oh and the poults will be born at any time of year too.
