strutters

I called one in with my voice while bowhunting in late October, I snuck closer judging by his gobbles, and finally he stood there going in and out of strut for a while. 20 yards away, but too thick to shoot an arrow. Finally got busted and he putted for 10+ minutes.

You are very lucky, would love to have a view like that from my windows.....

i have pictures of strutting toms from Nov and Dec. they can and will do it at any time of the year, same with gobbling. Some of the highest gobble counts i hear each year is the day of duck season opener haha

My son and me was duck hunting back in December and heard the longest chain gobbling I have ever heard. I bet it was 30 sec non-stop.

yes, they gobble and strut year round, just more often in the spring. I think it's for the hens in the spring, but more for each other in establishing the pecking order the rest of the year.

I've seen them strutting Nov-Feb and then on in to the spring. I've even seen hard core fights in winter flocked birds during deer season.
