STS String suppressor???

I use an STS type supressor made by meanv. I like it because it stops the string in same spot every shot. It helps with noise too. I think it's been a good add to my bow.

www.meanvarchery.com is where I got it.

So it really reduces noise? My bow vibration doesn't bother me, but it is a touch louder than I would like.

My Drelalin is very vibration free also.
But I did install The String Tamer, and it does reduce noise.
It just stops everything.. cold.

Not a must have item, but i like it a lot on my bow.

The one I have is the String Tamer SR. by Norway Industries.
Comes with a harmonic dampener, and has a flat rubber stopper.
It's fully adjustable.

I'm sure there are other brands just as good as this one.

I would suggest you try one.
My guess is that you will like it.

Yes, but the best part is..in most cases you can eliminate heavy string silencers that might otherwise affect your speed. Radar made a good point in another sts thread. Because the string is stopped short, it is less likely for your sleeve to interfer with the shot.

For guys with mathews. Do you leave the factory string suppressors on or take them off?

I leave them on. Why would you take them off? (Just curious)

Reason i asked was becuase i have seen a few that take them off when they add an aftermarket suppressor. Was curious myself.

They are awesome (if installed correctly). Definitely worth the money. Make sure your string barely touches the suppressor at rest, or you won't see the full effect. You may have to tune on that from time to time because of cable and string stretch, but not a big deal.
