I've heard good and bad things of using this stuff. I found 8lbs of Military Surplus IMR 4895 dirt cheap if I want it.

depends on how cheap 'dirt cheap' is...
For $60 or less, I'd buy it in a heartbeat just for kicks and giggles

I guess it just depends on how old it is and how it was stored. I have 3500 rnds. of LC .223 with 69 and 70 head stamps. It was packed in ammo cans and was on stripper clips in the bandoliers. I guess it was left over from Vietnam. Still shoots good as new.
