Ain't heard a bird gobble since Friday. I knew they were birds in there. I saw 2 stutters yesterday with hens but they saw me and my son. Waited til 9 this morning and didn't hear anything. Got up and walked out to the back of the property calling and nothing. I was headed back walking inside the edge of the woods and saw a turkey about 300yrds where I had been sitting all morning. Then got a glimpse of 3-4 other birds behind it so I knew at least one had to be a long beard and they were making their way towards the woods I was in so I sprinted to the top and slowly dropped of the side I knew they were on and finally caught movement. Sat down and yelped really soft and scratched the leaves and I see a hen down below me scratching around then I saw a white head in tow looking around. He followed her and went into full strut and soon as he came out and stepped in the opening I dropped him. There was at least one other longbeard with them I saw flying off. What a great bird to punch my last tag on. He had a 10 3/4 beard and 1 3/8 spur and weighed 22lbs (heavy for this late in season). I have had an amazing season for myself and helped quite a few others get some birds. For somebody that's only has been doing this 3yrs and couldn't even make a tone with a mouth call last year I'm truly humbled. Some people say they can't use one or it gags them I promise if you practice everyday since may of last year you can.

Fantastic man. Congrats.

And, you definitely jumped to the top of the learning curve with the mouth call. Sweet!

Awesome bird. I hunted for some years before I got one with hooks like that. Congratulations.
