SO i have an old Little Big Horn gobbler lounge that i have had for 7 years or so. Without a doubt the greatest vest ever made IMO, has a metal frame built in so it allows you to sit anywhere not needing a tree or something to sit against in addition to the fact it is SUPER comfortable to sit on.

well it is starting to really show some wear so i found a guy on old gobbler (http://www.usahuntingear.com/) that does work like this and he agreed to rebuild it for me with some minor modifications that i wanted (like padded straps and adding 3-d material to the very back from an old pair of 3-d pants i had) and the best part is he offered to do it for FREEEEEE as long as he can get some measurements off it so he can start making a vest to sell that is like this one. I pray it all comes back as good as he says it will as this thing is by far my favorite piece of gear i own and they no longer make them anymore....

He seems to be a good guy, I have talked to him several times. Tried to get him on here as a sponsor but not sure if he has had time to talk to the powers that be....

Super guy, and his products are made in the USA.

How long did he say he would have to keep it? You will have to post some pics up after you get it back.

he told me approx a week and a half but not sure he knew what he was getting into so i told him i just needed it back by mid march at the latest.

I'd be nervous as all get out sending something like that out. Knowing that turkey season will be here before you know it. On a good note though, he said he wouldn't be keep long at all. I may be interested in one like it, if he can/could make some to sell.

an update:

Tom got my vest and took all the measurements off of it and now is planning on making one just like it for hunters minus some of the draw backs of my vest. He is going to patch mine up and do some modifications i wanted on mine and send it back to me as well as one of his new vests he is building. He is going to update the frame on his to make it a 2piece so you can take it out or fold it down as well as redo the pocket system to a more water resistant roll out style system which seems cool. in addition on his he will use buckles and mags instead of zippers which i also like. Will post some pics of the progress when i get them. if this thing turns out to be a better version then the original little big horn vest i cannot even explain how awesome of a vest it will be. I am not sure what he will charge for them yet but looking like they will be around $90-$100 but allow the buyer to add some custom options to it before he builds it just for you.

Can't wait for the pics, its about time for me to get a new vest. The one I got now, I've since I got into turkey hunting.
