I live fairly close to Natchez Trace. My brother is coming in from out of state to visit and we are going to launch a couple kayaks and see what happens.

Any tips are appreciated.

I would also mention - I'm not stuck on Brown's Creek if someone has a better suggestion. I had just heard good things, and never had much luck on Pin Oak or Cub Lake.

If Browns is too busy, try Maple Creek Lake. It's smaller, and usually a lot less traffic. The ramp at Browns is better and easier to use, but the parking lot seems smaller and is definitely not as easy to use because of the way it's laid out, especially if its busy.

I've only fished Browns Creek twice. Both times were about this time of year, and man it was slow.

If you get there early enough (first light) troll around (quickly) and look for a shad spawn. If you see shad flickering hit that spot with a spinnerbait or something. After the sun gets on up I'd start dragging something through deeper water.
